Product Shot 1 The Pros:Cheap. Relatively inexpensive. Rather easy to learn, difficult to permanently mess up data when acquired by inexperienced user.

The Cons:Absolute counts within 96well format is not reliable. 96well mixing is not sufficient. Absolute counts not accurate with very high cell density.

    BD Accuri C6 system with BD CSampler overheats in periods of 2-9 hrs. The difference in temperature can be quite significant.

    The dynamic range of the instruments seems to change with every new version of the software, making it difficult to compare to previous samples.

Flowjock457: #accuri_c6_flow_cytometer I've yet to get a satisfactory response about how the software allegedly deals with the pulsation from the peristaltic pump that drives this instrument. Also, the best PMTs on the market today only garner 4.5 logs of linear data. Where does Accuri get the other 3.5 logs? Sure they may say it is easy to run but part of me thinks they are duping everyone else in the flow world whose machines produce 4.5 logs of usable data. Takes too much control out of the user's hands. Out side of looking like a gumball machine, the C6 doesn't come across as a serious machine, it's lowballed price-wise, I've heard of demos arriving with dead electronics. It just comes across like a bad deal. Dec 17, 10

    Anonymous: Had one for 2 years now. Love it. Little workhorse that is great for everyday/quick use. The extra logs are from larger acquisition chips I believe and eliminate need for PMT voltage adjustments making compensations easier. Mine has never clogged. Jan 7, 13

    Anonymous: Period of 3 and half years, we have had to send the machine back to belgium three times for repair. Very expensive to run and constantly clogging. The old facscalibur is better value for money Feb 25, 15
